Why Am I Running for Council?
I’m not in this for the money, prestige, applause or recognition. I’m running because I want to help Thunder Bay become the best city it can be for the people who live here.
I’m privileged to have a steady and supportive family - I don’t owe my candidacy to major donors, special interests, or outside influences that could pressure me to make decisions I don’t believe are right.
City Council shouldn’t be a place for grandstanding, sound bites, obfuscation or rigid ideology. It should constantly consider what is best for the people of Thunder Bay and work toward that goal. That responsibility is bigger than any one councillor—or, indeed, any one Council.
I’ve worked hard to reach the position I’m fortunate to be in today, and I want to give back to the entire community as best I can. For me, that means looking beyond a four-year term, pursuing long-term and systemic improvements, and asking whether opportunities—including federal or provincial funding—actually fit our priorities.
It means maintaining what we already have, building what we need and planning responsibly for the future.

What Can You Expect If I’m Elected to Council?
It’s simple to say, but only meaningful if you do it: I will show up, be prepared, ask questions and cast an informed vote. Council’s decisions affect all of us, and residents deserve representatives who take that responsibility seriously.
The truth is, I don’t have all the answers. Nobody does. What I have is a keen mind, a willingness to listen, the ability to reason, good ideas, enough experience to ask relevant questions, and the humility to admit when I’m wrong.
If elected, I will seek the information I need to make decisions I can explain and defend. I will ask meaningful—and sometimes uncomfortable—questions. Is this the right priority? Are we using public money responsibly? What will this cost over its entire life? Is there a better alternative? Who benefits, and who might be overlooked? My goal will be to make choices that do the most good for Thunder Bay as a whole.
I want to be someone who shows up for the citizens of Thunder Bay.
